課程概述 |
Introduction to Disaster Management and its relationship with Civil Engineering. Engineering approaches will be discussed to mitigate, prepare, respond to, and recover form disasters. This course aims to utilize Information Technology as a tool to support the goal of disaster management. | |

課程目標 |
Students will learn fundamental aspects of disaster management and its relationship with civil engineering. The course will teach disaster management through case studies and numerical methods to emphasize engineering approaches for disaster problem solving. Through this course, students will also learn to develop and implement information technology applications such as website design, geographic information systems, database systems, and user interface design. These approaches are expected to equip students with tools to solve future engineering and disaster related problems. | |

課程要求 |
- Be able to apply theoretical and applied methodologies to approach Disaster Management challenges specifically for Civil Engineering Systems.
- Every homework assignment should be complete by the student alone and projects should be complete by the group the student belongs. Plagiarism is forbidden. If other people's work has to be included, it is required to be referenced. |
